Breakfast – Green “Juice”

Today I’m going to show you my favorite breakfast item, the green smoothie! Wait! Don’t leave out of this post so fast. I know, when you hear green you think of a nasty veggie tasting beverage but I promise to you it’s not that bad!

Okay so maybe the green smoothie doesn’t have the best taste in the world, but it’s good for our bodies, especially if you’re not fond of veggies like I’m not.

Building Blocks

1 handful of greens
1 handful of fruits
1 handful of any extras

Items you will need:
1 Cup
1 Blender

Ingredients
1 handful of spinach
1 handful of kale
1 handful of strawberries or fruit alternative (see below)
1 handful of pineapple or fruit alternative
A couple ounces of water (I don’t measure it, see picture as a reference)

Instructions:
Add all greens and fruits together and add a tad bit of water. I like my smoothies a bit thicker so if you prefer your drinks to not be that thick add double the water. I never measure my water I just make sure to almost cover a layer of greens. See my picture as an example of how I layer my fruits and greens and to see how much water I include.

For fruits, you can add any fruit you enjoy! I always tweak my smoothies to whatever is in season. Some alternatives that I love are the following:

Fruit alternatives:
Strawberries
Blueberries
Pineapple
Melon
Watermelon
