Review – Facial Spray | Mario Badescu Skin Care

Beauty lovers, today I will be reviewing the Mario Badescu Skin Care Facial Sprays. I have both facial sprays, the aloe, herb, rosewater as well as the aloe, cucumber, and green tea. Here I will be reviewing both facial sprays (in that order) because although they are very similar I have different feelings towards each.

Rose Claims:0018824_facial-spray-with-aloe-herbs-and-rosewater
“Revitalize skin with dewy radiance. Whether spritzed for a hydrating boost or mid-day pick-me-up, our cult-favorite facial spray helps revive dehydrated skin anytime, anywhere. It’s a rejuvenating mist infused with herbal and botanical extracts (like Aloe Vera, Gardenia, Rose, Bladderwrack and Thyme) that help soothe and re-energize skin—giving it a healthy, radiant glow.” –Mario Badescu
Cucumber Claims:
“An invigorating mist formulated with an infusion of nutrient-rich botanicals and cucumber essential water to revivedull, tired skin. Aloe vera and cucumber – both rich in essential vitamins and minerals – deliver a cooling boost of hydration as green tea provides powerful antioxidant protection. Skin is left feeling refreshed and revitalized.” –Ulta

Functionality: ★★★ //★★★
As both claim, the mists serve to rehydrate and revive the skin. Both are light weight and do rehydrate the skin after a long day. Although both mists contain different ingredients, they both work the same way. I see no difference in my skin between the two mists. I’ve used these mists both before and after my makeup. To revive my skin, spraying it before makeup really helps revitalize my skin. It also works well after applying makeup. To give my makeup a more natural, less cake-y, look I apply it after my makeup and it looks fresh.2507285

Smell / Texture: ★★☆//★★★
Both mists literally smell like what they contain. The rose water has a strong rose smellwhile the cucumber mist is a bit less potent but it smells like cucumber and green tea. I personally like the cucumber smell better. The rose water mist is too strong for my liking however, I will try it during the winter and see if I change my mind.

Packaging: ★★★ //★★★
The packaging on both mists are great. Nothing crazy, it’s simple and it works.

Price:★★★ //★★★
There are three sizes available 2, 4, and 8 oz. bottles. The 8 oz. bottles are both are $12. The downside is that you can only find the Cucumber Green Tea at Ulta while you can find the Rosewater one at Ulta and other sites like Mario Badescu.

Extras: ★★★ // ★★★
For hot sunny days, I have tried putting the mists inside the refrigerator for a couple of minutes and it definitely is refreshing to put on the face after a long, hot summer day. I have only tried this with the cucumber one but I would imagine the rosewater one being the same.

While putting it on, it takes a couple minutes to dry so if you spray before your makeup make sure you leave a couple minutes so it can dry. I also like spraying it before my moisturizer, before I go to bed.

Final Thoughts:★★☆//★★★
There’s no difference between either spray. If you’re looking for a spray that helps rehydrate your skin, either before or after you apply makeup this is exactly what you need. Both mists are great, however I give the full three stars to the cucumber green tea spray as the smell is amazing compared to the rose water one. If you enjoy rose scented beauty products, then the rose water one will not disappoint. I’d give it all three stars if I enjoyed the rose scent.
