A trip to Nashville isn’t complete without visiting Hattie B’s! You’ll see it on every “Top 10 Nashville XYZ” list and hear about it from every local. Why? Because their “hot” fried chicken is what dreams are made of!

There will always be a line out the door when visiting Hattie B’s. I went on a Wednesday, during lunch time, and waited approximately 30 minutes to order. But if the line isn’t evidence of how good Hattie B’s is, than what else do you need? I went with a plate of tenders which includes 3 tenders, two sides, bread, and pickles. For my sides, I chose the Pimento Mac n Cheese and Crinkle Cut Fries. My total was about $13, including a lemonade!

Honestly, when ordering I thought the 3 tenders wouldn’t be enough. Well guess what – I didn’t finish the third tender. The Crinkle Cut Fries were fried to perfection with just the right amount of salt. And the Pimento Mac n Cheese? Amazing, very flavorful but I was full with the 2 tenders and fries that I just took one bite. Everything I ordered was flavorful and worth while.

Friends ordered other plates like the Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Small White plates, and they said it was great!

Their heat levels go from southern (no heat), mild, hot, damn hot, to “shut the cluck up” level! Being a Latina, I love spicy food but I ordered the mild as I wanted to enjoy the chicken.

Being born and raised in Chicago, I had never heard of hot chicken. Now, it’s my go to every time I visit Nashville. Next time you’re in Nashville or Birmingham, make sure to visit Hattie B’s!
