Restaurant Review: Gypsy Kitchen

On a trip to Atlanta, I ventured on with co-workers to celebrate our first week of work. We went on a Wednesday for dinner and waited approximately 10 minutes to get seated (we were waiting for the rest of our group). Once seated, I ordered the Chicken Croquetas and Patatas Bravas. Recommended by the waiter was a Charcuterie and Cheese Board. Two other ladies and I split the board in three. We ordered the medium board with Jamon Iberico, Lomo, and Bresaola for the meats and Manchego, Cana de Cabra, and Garrotxa for the cheese selections. For drinks, we all ordered a glass of Rose Sangria – delicious!

Honestly, when ordering I thought the two appetizers and board I ordered wouldn’t be enough. Well it was! The Chicken Croquetas were accompanied with a piquillo yogurt sauce which complemented the Croquetas very well. The Patatas Bravas had a great crispy paprika taste to it that was enjoyable. The Charcuterie and Cheese Board was also really good. The board came with small samples of the cheeses, meat, and bread. Enough food for the three of us. The softer cheeses ended up becoming my favorite.

My total ended up being under $50. For 4 Chicken Croquetas, 4 Patatas Bravas, 1/3 of a cheese and meat board, and 1 sangria. Not bad, however, make sure to note: if you’re ordering the Jamon Iberico as a meat selection for the board, you will pay $10 extra.

Overall my experience was good. A bit pricey in my opinion but nothing out of the ordinary. If you want to experience good tapas and a drink after work in Atlanta and don’t mind the price, go to Gypsy Kitchen!
